“SORRY.” ARE WE????

protest2_20121220An incident in Delhi, which further reminds us again that there are men, who are still barbarians . Who is to be questioned now? Is it the government or the conscience of the people?

The conscience isn’t dead yet, and that remains proven with the mass protests. But, then, comes the government. It is for sure, that the judiciary needs to make some serious changes in law for crimes like these. A punishment more harsh and brutal is needed at this time. This has to be understood by the government, the judiciary, who had, in the past sentenced a convict, no less barbarian than the one convicted presently, to a juvenile prison. If it is all not so bound by the rules and regulations, then it has to be understood that punishments shall be directly proportional to the intensity of the crime. Well, for cases such as these, sentiments shall be respected as well as there must be a punishment which shall stand exemplary in the future.

In a country where people assume pride in claiming themselves religiously the best, claiming themselves morally as well as culturally upright, this act of shame has forced the whole of the conscious nation to bow their heads down in shame.

It is a time for a change in mentality. Time has been moving in its pace, and will keep moving, but are we? There is no direct answer to this, but yes, a large section of the society is lying far behind the time. Where people are still caught up in superstitions and narrow mindedness .

I clearly remember a spiritual Guru’s statement for one of the similar cases. He claimed that, had the victim called the convict her brother, at the time the deed was about to happen, she could have saved herself. Now that is the level of a “SPIRITUAL GURU”, who has millions of followers in the entire nation. These people are nothing but shameless as well as senseless. Who placed these people on top? Unfortunately, It is we.

It seems that people have drained their ability to take up sensible decisions. There are people who donate lakhs and lakhs of rupees to these Gurus, for them to live in luxury. But then, there won’t be a penny out of their pockets to donate in a PM’s relief fund.

delhi_gangrapeprotest_1Everything around is so questionable. But the fact is that there comes a tide of might only to leave behind a small deposit of water on the shore which eventually dries up. The people have become too submissive. Everyone has become too passive to react to the happenings. They are forced to give up.

This is a time for a social awakening. Everyone needs to get united, for the sake of everyone. People stand against the wrong, but then, the ones united are protesting in a direction not valued, and the ones who know the right direction are busy flagging the banners of their political parties. Everything wrong is on a high. Morals need to be re-instilled. The ones in power are using their power at the wrong place. It may seem that we really condemn these acts, but then why is the output not so concrete every time? There is every highly posted official so SORRY for what happened, but are they??
